The bible is on the top shelf. Bolt:
The move actually implies that the readers of some of these books are to be feared.

In Spain:
JUST IMAGINE FOR A SECOND if this had happened in Bush’s USA, or in Aznar’s Spain, instead of Zapatero’s Spain:
A memo leaked to Spanish media this week is purported to have instructed one particular police station in the Madrid area — not in Lavapies — to arrest 30 undocumented immigrants per week.
The Interior Ministry has denied there is any quota system. But police unions complain they are under pressure to make arrests, and say officers pushed to meet their targets have ended up simply stopping foreign-looking people at random at train stations and bus stops.
It’s even worse: according to Spanish media, that leaked memo allegedly instructed police officers to aim for Moroccans preferably, as they’re cheaper to deport since their home country is nearer.

Alfie Patten and his lover:
Meanwhile Alfie Patten, the 13 year-old star of the latest freak show, revealed he was taking a break from thrice-nightly sexual intercourse after discovering masturbation.
He added: “I don’t want to miss out on an important part of my childhood.”
More teenage sex.

Westboro Baptist Church invades!
Well, it would be a secret if they hadn’t told the media about it, but their undercover operatives are here to protest on Friday outside a sixth-form college in Basingstoke.
Frankly, I can think of few worse ways of spending a Friday evening than at a six-form college in Basingstoke, but the sixth-formers in question must be thrilled; it’s not everyday that your production of ‘The Laramie Project’ makes it to the national media, much less attracts transatlantic critics with the extraordinary flair for language of the Phelps:
‘“Y’all turned the world over to fags so you are coming back in body bags.”
I do hope all the seats sell out…

It’s not the Jews they hate - it’s Israel, dummy:
Berating Jews with their own history, disinheriting them of pity, as though pity is negotiable or has a sell-by date, is the latest species of Holocaust denial, infinitely more subtle than the David Irving version with its clunking body counts and quibbles over gas-chamber capability and chimney sizes. Instead of saying the Holocaust didn’t happen, the modern sophisticated denier accepts the event in all its terrible enormity, only to accuse the Jews of trying to profit from it, either in the form of moral blackmail or downright territorial theft. According to this thinking, the Jews have betrayed the Holocaust and become unworthy of it, the true heirs to their suffering being the Palestinians. Thus, here and there throughout the world this year, Holocaust day was temporarily annulled or boycotted on account of Gaza, dead Jews being found guilty of the sins of live ones.

A reader asks:
Will someone please get a calculator and divide the amount now said to “have to be paid” as a basic contractual minimum by the number of staff and give me a figure for an average bonus payment?
Get the greedy bankers…

A reader writes:
Yampster; what a witty response to my comment yesterday. Just wanted to point out that people with terminal cancer, are not instantly dead… it takes time. As in the case of my Dad, who knew he was dying for a year before it happened. Having witnessed the turmoil that a person goes through when they know that death is scheduled, and the way that knowledge affects behaviour and mood. I think that all of the nay sayers should shut up about Jade. People who care about her could be reading your comments. would you want people saying thing like that about your loved ones when they were dying?
